The Koozooka
Officially designated as the M-420(X) Apparel Accelerator, but unofficially dubbed the “Koozooka”, this is designed to be a functional stage showpiece for distributing can koozies and t-shirts to a crowd. Scroll down for a video clip!
In the event of a catastrophic failure, the M-420 was designed to fail inwards for safety. Elastic propellant was used in place of pressurized gas or combustion. The power of the device can be adjusted in the shop by adding or removing elastic bands or changing the preload of the elastic.
Currently the M-420 is set up with zero preload (which means the bands are snug but have no tension on them when the device is decocked). Increasing the preload will increase the power.
Although the device is designed to be as benign as possible, it is a launcher and common sense must be used in it’s operation.
Also this is a prototype, improvements and alterations will be documented here as they are made. Already I can say that the trigger/sear mechanism will have to be beefed up and some sort of shoulder stock should be incorporated.
Construction summary is canceled until the Mk2 version is finished, I’ve decided that this first design is too clumsy even to describe in depth.
